In New Jersey, the Lemon Law is an important and effective state law which enables the consumer of a defective car to acquire a full refund of the purchase price of the vehicle, or new car replacement in the event that the manufacturer fails to repair a nonconformity (that is, a defect or condition which substantially impairs the use, value, or safety of the car) within a reasonable number of attempts, as defined in the lemon law.
